FIDELIS MORGAN
	She did her honours degree at Birmingham University Department of Drama and Theatre Arts. It was here that her interest in Restoration theatre started. Her tutor Jocelyn Powell wrote Restoration Theatre Production, a book which points out the parallels between Restoration staging and the theories of Bertolt Brecht.

She worked as an actor with the usual suspects: The Royal Shakespeare Company, repertory companies in Birmingham, Nottingham, Liverpool, Leeds and Glasgow, as well as touring companies like Paines Plough and a stint in the West End.

It was while playing Polina in Chekhov's The Seagull, sitting freezing in the wings at Glasgow Citizens, that she came up with the idea of writing "The Female Wits".

On British TV Fidelis has appeared in Jeeves & Wooster, Big Women, Mr Majeika, As Time Goes By, Dead Gorgeous and various other series.

She is currently to be seen storming out of her house and glaring at the chauffeur in the KitKat Special Editions Seville Orange commercial, directed by John Lloyd.

But her major achievement has been in the theatre.

She was on a list of seven best actresses of the year (with Maureen Lipman, Natalia Makarova, Julie Covington, Margaret Tyzack, Linda Bassett and Frances Barber) in The Observer for her work at Glasgow Citizens Theatre
