Abroad Writers Conferences is announcing our Playwrights contest. First Place: Winner will be a guest of honor at our Writers Conference, where your play will be performed by professional actors. Your play will also be published in the literary journal, "Driftwood". Value: $2,250.00 (prize does not include airfare) Second Place: A reduction of 50% on our conference fee.

Plays must be: unpublished, One act or max 30 pages (play texts are double-spaced) with a one page breakdown of the rest of the action of the play - with a clear cover letter/short biog and short synopsis of the whole work?

Plays must be postmarked by September 1, 2006. Send $20 per play for entry fee with a self-addressed stamped envelop, along with a covering letter for notification. You may send a check, money order or Visa. Winners will be notified by October 15, 2006.

We will not reward a fellowship unless we receive a minimum number of 200 applicants to cover our cost. If the minimum has not been received we will automatically roll the competition over to the following month, or until the minimum number has been obtained.
