Hotel Zlaty andel (Golden Angel), is situated in the centre of town, the hotel is ideally located for exploring the sights of Cesky Krumlov. Some rooms have great views of the castle and the square on which the hotel is situated. The building is a historical landmark. The main building has smooth street frontage which ends with two Gothic gables. The main facade is smooth and separated with many windows of various kinds. The interior on the groundfloor is accessible through the portal with a pointed arch. It follows with the hall which has a flat wooden joist ceiling. Quite significant is a fragment of a Renaissance painting representing a horse, situated in the hall. The hall narrows to a vaulted passage with a Gothic wagon-vault and the passage vents to the central yard of irregular rectangle shape. The groundfloor has a two-part disposition. The peripheral masonry of the groundfloor has a wooden log-cabin-type interspace. In the right part of the house with a lowered groundfloor there is a space with a wooden joist ceiling. The rooms in the first floor have mainly flat ceilings with an exception of a chamber above the passage which has wagon - vaults which repeats in mezzanine. In the yard on the left is a one floor grange with a joist ceiling. The buildings were built on the slope declining towards the Vltava River. This four star hotel has maintained its traditional appearance but it suits our modern needs.

We had a view of the spectacular castle tower from our window, the hotel is located right in the public square in the center of town, and our room was among the best we had experienced in eastern Europe. Frommer's Review The Golden Angel has emerged from a chrysalis with new wings. After a long reconstruction and renovation of its rooms, including new furniture, the Golden Angel has shed its Communist furnishings for more stylish fittings right down to the marble bathrooms....... A piano bar and small pub add to the fact that this is now the best place on the square.

All the bedrooms are different as the building has new and old parts to it. Although the structure of the building has not been changed, additional buildings have been purchased or added to the rear. Access is by stairs and is not always internal. All bedrooms are a good size and are well furnished with medium sized bathrooms.
